Import existing orders and customers

We are going to reinstall latest modified shop software... in this case how can we import all of our existing data like customers, orders, and products?

make a dump from the database and reimport that afterwards? Use phpMyAdmin for that for example or another mysql-backup utility

What about a normal upgrade? I do not know how often we asked for Your current version, but it depends on Your version what is best way.

Just importing can cause problems, because database-structure has some changes from version to version. So I would prefer a upgrade on a copy of Your current version.

damn, I read that as "we already have it, we wanna reinstall (mb 'cause some php files got corrupt) and take the data with us.
If you're going to install another version of the software: ofc you need to do the normal upgrade path. There are SQL-files in each update that you need to execute too, but it all depends on your current version

We are using version 1.05 this is very older version... so we planned to reinstall the latest version modified shop and import the data from older version. so that i want to know how to export the customers and orders data from older version  and import to newer version.

And what about desing and changes in code You have done?

My suggestion:
Install latest version of the shop
Implement Your design and code
Execute sql-upgrade-scripts on a copy of old database => in Your new shop switch now to this upgraded DB

At the end You have 3 databases: your old 1.05, standard 1.06, upgraded and filled with data 1.06 database
