What are the logic of New Products box displayed in the left side bar?

How we can enable this?

Hi Jey,

the box shows recently offered products in random order.

To your 2nd question:

to enable the New Products Box you have to do this in /templates/YourTemplate/index.html:

change

Code: PHP  [Auswählen]

{$box_WHATSNEW}

to

Code: PHP  [Auswählen]

{*$box_WHATSNEW*}

We changed the code in our template as per your instruction

but still the box is not visible.... Please let me know where we made the mistake?

The Expression {* .... *} defines comments. With this change you have diabled the box. To enable it bring it back into form {$box_WHATSNEW}.

If you like to change the logic of displayed products you find the code in file:

templates/....my template or xtc5.../source/boxes/whats_new.php

To enable the display of older products go to "Configuration" -> "Maximum Values" -> "Maximum Age (days) for New Products" and set this to a higher number appropriate for you.

And .... you must have at least one new product in the configured range, otherwise the box doesn't show up.
