Hi Tomcraft,

We must do some customizations on it in the near future based on requests from customers. That's why we chose to have a forked version. And for being easier to maintain the code, we had tried to clean up the code using php_beautifier and the changes about utf-8. I'm not sure if you like the changes we made currently. So we just keep it open to see if someone would like to merge them.

We also made another module for XOOPS which called lang_tool ([lang_tool]Language tool 0.08 released). We use this module to update translations of modified eCommerce Shopsoftware since both applications are using the same syntax in internalization.

@vsell, it would be great to have Japanese language pack.

@Tomcraft, You could try to setup XOOPS and the lang_tool module. The module provides an interface to help you translate XOOPS modules online based on the source language, usually English, you select.

Then just copy modified eCommerce Shopsoftware/lang/english/ to xoops/modules/xtc/language/english/. Change the language folder setting through admin interface of lang_tool and start to create a new language pack based on English.

You could also update the existing language packs if you figure out how it works.

Another idea would be to start over with so called pot-files.
